Photos from out our hotel room window   It's hard to describe what life is like in this area.  When you look at these photos, keep in mind that this is a very middle class section we are in.  Rupert has to keep reminding me of this...that the people around us are quite well-off financially for their society.  However, coming from an American perspective, it is hard to comprehend...In our society this would be a life of poverty...substandard living conditions... and here, in China, this is "well off" or "middle class."
