We are leaving Vermont on the 6th, leaving the U.S. on the 7th, arriving in China on the 8th, and meeting our son on the 12th! We will be coming home the night of April 23.
Please keep us in your thoughts, and especially little Aaron whose entire world is about to be changed; he is about to give up all he knows...For a better life we know, but at three years old it is impossible for him to understand what his life will be like in our family in America until he actually gets here.
April 6 Jet Blue flight from Burlington to JFK
Stay overnight at the Courtyard Marriott JFK
April 7 Depart U.S. via Cathay Pacific at 10:10 am.
April 8 Arrive Hong Kong Airport at 2:00 pm (but our bodies will think it is AM!)
China Southern flight at 5:50 PM arriving at Baiyan airport in Guangzhou at
6:30 pm
Car ride to our Shifu Holiday Inn in Guangzhou
April 9 Free Day (exchange money, buy stroller, get a massage)
April 10 Free Day
April 11 Visit LianHua Mountain (Lotus Mountain) in Panyu
April 12 MEET OUR SON!!! Apply for his passport
April 13 Adoption process day (full day)
April 14 Xiangjiang Safari Park (We are THRILLED!)
April 15 Trip to orphanage for a visit
April 16 Get Aaron’s passport
April 17 Visa Physical
April 18 Free Day
April 19 Visa Interview 9:30 at US Consulate
April 20 Oath at US Consulate and visit Temple of Six Banyan Trees
April 21 Get Aaron’s Visa around 4 pm
April 22 Leave Guangzhou for HK on 11:10 am China Southern flight
Stay overnight at Regal Airport Hotel
April 23 Leave for HOME on Cathay Pacific 9:25 am flight
Arrive JFK 1:10 and go through Customs
Delta flight from JFK at 8:40 pm to Vermont!
April 23 Arrive home just before midnight

- 4/23/2010 We arrive in U.S. Aaron becomes a United States Citizen
- 4/13/2010 Adoption Day - Aaron is officially our son!
- 4/12/2010 We met our new son, Aaron
- 4/8/2010 - 4/23/2010 Trip to China
- 4/6/2010 Leave Home for Aaron
- 3/30/2010 TA arrives (Travel Approal)
- 3/9/2010 Passports with Chinese Visas arrive (ONE MONTH after mailing them to the courier service)
- 3/1/2010 LOA (Letter of Approval) arrives after 53 LONG days!
- 1/19/2010 PA! (Prior Approval) We many now officially share our wonderful news!
- 1/7/2010 Our Letter of Intent to adopt Bao Xinsheng is officially sent to the CCAA.
- 1/6/2010 Bao Xinsheng's file received at CAWLI (YIPPEE)
- 12/31/2009 USCIS approves us to adopt a BOY (or girl) through age 4. (This is record time! What a way to celebrate the New Year!)
- 12/28/2009 CCAA lets GWCA know that CAWLI has a family (US!) interested in adopting Bao Xinsheng. GWCA officially release his file back to CCAA.
- 12/23/2009 We submit a letter to USCIS, along with a home study update from our social worker, recommending we be approved to adopt a BOY, age 3
- 12/11/2009 We emailed our LOI (Letter of Intent) to adopt Bao Xinsheng to CAWLI (We will not officially be LOI until CAWLI receives his file from CCAA. We are told it could take a month or more for this transfer to occur, and that these types of transfers are not often done.)
- 12/11/2009 GWCA agrees that they will release Bao Xinsheng's file back to CCAA (if asked by CCAA) to have it transferred to our agency, CAWLI
- 11/18/2009 WE FOUND OUR SON! (Mommy saw Bao Xinsheng's photo on a different agency's Waiting Children's List - GWCA)
- 3/8/2008 LID (Dossier Logged in at CCAA in China) to adopt a baby girl 0-12 months, NSN (non special needs)
- 11/16/2007 Sent applications to Adoption Advocates (local home study agency) and CAWLI (China Adoption With Love). We started the process to adopt our second child, on the day before Donovan turned 1.

- My husband and I adopted our son from China, in April 2010 when he was 3 years old. We are now in the process of adopting a 2 year old little girl, from the same orphanage Aaron was from. She will be named Sarah Alexa. We expect to travel at the end of July/beginning of August.

I know you wonder where we are... what's taking us so long.
But remember child, I love you so and God will keep you strong.
Now go outside and feel the breeze and let it touch your skin...

May God hold you in His hand until I can be with you.
I promise you, my darling, I'm doing all that I can do.
Very soon, you'll have a family for real, not just pretend.
