Florida Bound

We are getting ready to board the flight to Florida.

My FB friends know...it's been QUITE a week. As much as I did not want to admit it, there were moments in the past couple of days when I thought we might not make it on the plane...(and I have been kicking myself that just a couple of weeks ago I had been thinking we have all had such a healthy winter in this family...)

It started Monday when Sarah was at a routine doctor appointment, and we discovered she had a fever of 104. (She had NO SYMPTOMS.) The nurse found she had double ear infections. And so she started an antibiotic.  After 2 doses of it, she developed some very yucky GI symptoms (emphasis on the YUCKY) which we attributed to the antibiotics,...but now we are not so sure.  Luckily, her ears have cleared up so that flying will not be painful for her.

Wednesday night before bed, Donovan complained of a headache. I gave him Advil and didn't think much of it (both boys are prone to headaches). Then, Thursday morning at 4 am Donovan came into our room to say he felt like he was going to throw up...and proceeded to start throwing up. The vomiting lasted 4 hours. He had a low fever and bad headache, and spent the day resting and recovering. (Interestingly several of Donovan's friends have also had this same virus. It seems to mostly start with a headache, lowgrade fever, and then within 6 hours the vomiting started.)

Friday morning Aaron woke up crying that he had the worst headache ever and a bad stomachache. Both boys stayed home (good thing I had packed our suitcases earlier in the week!). Aaron also had a low grade fever. Aaron had the yucky GI symptoms that Sarah had earlier in the week, but  never threw up

We are SO READY for warm temperatures, sun, beach, and Legoland.

Florida...here we come!
